McDonald’s committed itself to reducing litter around its restaurants. To positively address this problem, we added value to waste. A lot of value. We introduced a unique and limited jewelry collection made of customers’ trash: the Litter & Glamour Collection.
McDonald's customers who actually threw their waste away in the gold trash bins, were given the chance to win a piece from the Litter and Glamour collection. We took customers' litter from the streets and turned it into a collection of 14-karat jewelry. Ranging from a life size dented milkshake cup to a ring made from a Big Mac box.
We teamed up with a renowned goldsmith and metal worker. In a special process the litter was gilded, and some items were inlaid with stones. Creating the world’s most wanted waste.
